Song of the Week December 11, 2007 - Those Dancing Days

Oh what ever would we do without our Marcus? Some of the best music I've been exposed to lately has been from Marcus (my brother in law). Since he married my sister thier combined cd collection is something to behold. An enviable library of all things indie, pop, rock, every permutation of, and of course the complete collections of Belle and Sebastian, and R.E.M. Every time I scan the wall of cds i find artists and albums i never knew existed, like a kid in a candy shop, they should really start charging...JUST KIDDING if you're reading this marcus :)
So anyway Marcus' holiday mix this year is a mix of his favorites from the BBC 6music website, which he streams at work all day long. Since i've been holed up in my office/the library working on these research papers, i've been listening to alot of it myself, and mining up many new gems form across the pond, its been great! Anyway, his holiday mix is on heavy rotation in the car, and this week's song of the week was actually a tossup between two songs form that mix. But I finally decided on Those Dancing Days, by the same named artist as it seems to be getting me going, even against my will at times and especially in the morning on the way to school.
So this one is a shout out to Marcus, without whom my musical world would be much smaller

I will be forwarding this post to Marcus's attention so that he knows he's getting some love.

GREAT picture of us, btw. And by "great", I mean "ridiculous". Which we are, so, y'know, fair enough. xoxoxoxoxo

i looked it up in the dictionary, and "ridiculous" is actually a synonym for "great". if you squint hard at the small print, you can see it after the definition there. :)

i am supposed to be working on my sermon for tomorrow!!! you are killing me with neo-80's pop and the worst of it is I am liking it... I am holding you responsible for this travesty... you can blame marcus but I am holding you accountable!!!

so instead of writing my sermon on silence i have headphones on with the sweedish pop blasting in my ears...

thanks.
