The Great Clothing Project

So this is almost all the clothes that i own. All save for underwear, socks, work out clothes sweatshirts/lounge clothing or pajamas. Also, there are two more loads of laundry currently in the washing machine/dryer cycle. I took everything out of the closets, drawers and storage. I will next sort through to make 3 piles:
1. trash - clothes unsuitable, even for the needy (so why am i wearing them?!)
2. Donations - So many clothes to donate, mostly clothes that are too big for me, that i should get rid fo so i don't have them as a backup
3. Keeps

Then i can go through all the keeps and see what i'm missing.

Then and ONLY then will i start shopping. Im on a student budget so it will take some time to search sales and find good deals but at least i will be armed with a basics list.

This is all inspiring me to do the same in the kitchen, then i can move on to the same project, thoguh it will surely be more abstract, going through all the misc. boxes of storage under beds and in closets. Oh it will feel so good, i love a good Purge!!!

This is so smart. I need to do this, too. There are a few sweaters that I've lost track of (chunky black soft turtleneck where ARE you?) and some things that just need to GO before I can start replenishing my wardrobe with Suitable For A Schoolmarm fashions.

totally! it takes a while to try on every piece of clothing you own, and its surprisingly tiring. But i was ruthless and got rid of about 1/3 of my clothes, and now know what i need to replace. i even bought some new jeans already...hooray!
