i hate that there is a mandate on how many words my papers are supposed to be in english class. It makes me so obsessive compulsive about checking my word count. and every time its not enough, i feel more and more pressure to just jam more crap in my paper to make it happen. Who's to say that i can't get my claim across, fully supported and well verbalized in less than 700 godamn words? is there no credit for being efficient?

that is the beauty grad school... there is just so much research and documentation required that limits are necessary.... i often think that a 5 page paper is harder to write than a 10 page....
